Exo Msg 27

1. Whatever or whoever is redeemed must also be sanctified.
2. Redemption is for our security; sanctification is for God's purpose.
3. For redemption, we need Christ as our security and that for sanctification we need Christ as our substitute in order to be acceptable to God and pleasing to Him.
4. He must be our substitute for both redemption and sanctification.
5. If we live with Christ as our substitute, have a new beginning of life, and deal with all exposed sin, we shall have a great deal to remember in eternity.
6. The bones that were taken out of the grave and brought into the good land signify resurrection life.
7. When the dry bones become living and begin to walk out of Egypt, God's guidance comes to them.
8. The cloud signifies the Spirit and the fire the Word of God.
9. God's guidance is always a pillar which denotes strength.

Exo Msg 26

1. Exodus requires a thorough subduing of the environment.
2. "Through Christ as our Passover we are saved from God's judgment, but by God's subduing hand we are saved from Satan and the world."
3. The fact that the children of Israel did not have the time to prepare leavened bread indicates that the Lord will deal with our environment to such an extent that it will give us no time for sinful things.
4. When we come out of the world under God's sovereign hand, we have no time to leave anything. However, we have the opportunity to plunder the world.
5. Christians who are slothful and sleeping cannot make an exodus.

Exo Msg 25

1. Eating unleavened bread indicates that God's people should not live in sin, that is, should not live a sinful life.
2. The feast of unleavened bread is a continuation of the feast of Passover.
3. Although it is not possible to be without sin, we must deal with any sin that is manifested.
4. When we eat for enjoyment, our eating becomes a feast.
5. After we receive the Lord and are saved (feast of Passover), we should continue our enjoyment by dealing with sin.
6. "As soon as we refuse to deal with any sin that has been exposed, we no longer keep the feast of unleavened bread."
7. In the enjoyment of God's salvation, there is no place for our work.
8. "To add human labor to God's salvation is to insult God and to cut ourselves off from fellowship."
9. To feast with the Lord makes Him happy.
10. The unbelievers and strangers are not allowed to partake of the Passover.
11. A hired servant is one who serves for wages, for compensation; that natural man always works for God in order to receive compensation.
12. Christ's redemption does not include the natural life. Rather His redemption deals with the natural man by putting him on the cross.
13. "To be baptized is to realize that the natural life is good for nothing except burial. When a new believer has this realization, he is conscious of the fact that he has been purchased and circumcised."
14. God's complete redemption produces an army.
15. The firstborn includes everyone in Adam; the second born, on the contrary, are all those who are in Christ, for Christ is the second man.
16. We must condemn everything within us that is related to the firstborm, that is, to Adam. We must condemn the natural life.

Exo Msg 24

1. None of the bones of the lamb being broken signifies Christ's indestructible life has imparted life into us to make us His counterpart.
2. Only when we are girded (not loose) can be take the Passover in a proper way.
3. The girdle, the shoes, and the staff are for a journey of war.
4. The blood of the lamb was put on the lintel and the two side posts implies that the blood opens the way for us to get into Christ, who is typified by Christ.
5. It also protects the redeemed ones from God's judgment.
6. Both lamb and house are Christ. The lamb is the means of redemption, the house is of preservation.
7. Even with our little faith (signified by hyssop), we can still apply the Passover lamb.
8. The children of Israel were requirement to stay in house; this implies our identification. Without it, there is no redemption. The only way to be one with Him is to enter into Him.
9. The principle of redemption is there is no need for us to do anything other than to exercise our hyssop, our faith, to apply the blood. It is impossible to separate the redeeming blood from the house.
10. They remain in the house and feast.
11. To have a feast to the Lord is that we feast for Him and with Him.
12. Remaining in the house is the full course of redemption.

Exo Msg 23

1. Christ is not only the lamb of the Passover, but the very Passover itself.
2. Before Christ can be our Passover, He must first be our covering.
3. "He is not only the lamb, the unleavened bread, and the hearbs; He is also the house whose lintel and doorposts have been sprinkled with the redeeming blood."
4. Unleavened bread is to eliminate all sinful things.
5. Bitter herbs are to regret and repent, to experience a bitter taste regarding sinful things.

Exo Msg 22

1. Sovereignty denotes absolute right, authority, and power.
2. In the confrontation between Moses and Pharaoh we see a portrait of God's sovereignty.
3. "The very God who is love came in, according to His sovereignty, to slaughter the firstborn."
4. "The proper way to work for God is not to labor or to endeavor, but to represent Him. It means that we should spend more time to contact the Lord. In our prayer, we should pray to touch the Lord, to know His heart, and to sense His feeling."

Exo Msg 21

1. On the one hand, the kind of vessel we are is a matter of God's sovereignty; on the other hand, it depends on what we say of ourselves.
2. Need to worship God for His mercy and sovereignty.
3. There is 3 things that cannot be denied in the universe: God's mercy, sovereignty, and man's free will.
4. God took the first step in hardening of Pharaoh's heart. And Pharaoh did the executing.
5. "On the one hand, we must worship God for His sovereignty, but on the other hand, we must fulfill our responsibility."
6. Once you harden your heart, you heart will become heart.

Exo Msg 20

1. Pharaoh represents Satan, self, and natural man.
2. Negatively the wilderness signifies a place of wandering, but positively it signifies a realm of separation.
3. He separated them so that they may hold a feast with Him and offer sacrifice to God.
4. First stage of bargaining is to ignore God's demand to let the children of Israel go.
5. Second stage is to sacrifice in the land of Egypt.
6. Third stage is to go to sacrifice in the wilderness, but not go very far away. Parents tell their children, "But you are too extreme in following the Lord. You don't need to go to meetings several times a week. Isn't an hour on Sunday morning enough? It's all right to believe in Jesus, but don't be fanatical about it."
7. Forth stage is to let the men go to serve God, but not the young and old.
8. Fifth stage is to let them go, but not with their flocks and herds.
9. "All that is plundered from the world should be brought to the Lord Jesus and wasted upon Him. To do this is to be saved to the uttermost."

Exo Msg 19

1. Rain is to cause plants and trees to grow and to quench the thirst of man.
2. When it functions abnormally, it becomes hail that damages the life of the earth.
3. Wind sends a supply of fresh air, but it causes locusts to appear that devours what remained from the plague of the hail.
4. The third group, God deals with rain, wind, and sunshine.
5. Worldliness is worse than sinfulness. Worldliness is against God's holiness which is higher than sinfulness that is against His righteousness.

Exo Msg 18

1. First 3 plagues are of the water.
2. 2nd 3 plagues are of the air. - flies swarmed in the air, pestilence in the air, and ashes that cause boils
3. God put redemption between His people and Pharaoh's people means that Pharaoh's people were exposed to His judgment.
4. If the water is under the redemption of Christ, it is water; else, it is blood.
5. Pestilence was caused by germs spread by the flies.
6. Pestilence affects animals for transportation and food.
7. "If we love the Lord and serve Him under His blessing, everything related to us will be blessed also."
8. Ashes indicate anything remaining of our fallen human life must be dealt with by God. It indicates that God's judgment is fine and thorough.
9. 2nd 3 plagues did not affect the children of Israel and magicians are not able to do anything, can't save people from flies, pestilence, or boils. Can't rescue people from moral and spiritual pollution.

Exo Msg 17

1. Frogs show that the Eyptian life is not a life of enjoyment, but a life of trouble.
2. Magicians can bring frogs, but can't take them away.
3. A preacher of the gospel must be able to bring forth frogs and take them away. As we pray, the frogs are taken away.
4. The water brings in frogs, and the dust turns into lice.
5. The lice was the finger of God.

Exo Msg 16

1. First conflict, no miracles, plagues, or judgements. Just negotiation.
2. Second conflict, miracle, but no plagues nor judgements. The miracle exposes the real condition of Egyptian life.
3. The magicians' rods become serpents, too. Philosphies similar to what we preach in the gospel. But the gospel swallows up oday's philosophical teachings. Therefore, don't be threatened or discouraged.
4. Third conflict brought in plagues - life in Egypt is not a life of rest and enjoyment, but of blood, or death.
5. Because they did not repent, the exposure becomes a punishment.
6. Magicians were able to bring in the blood, but do not have the means to take it away.
7. 10 plagues in 4 groups (3, 3, 3, 1):
- first group: troublesome, not injurious
- second group: harm to beasts and men
- third group: destroyed environment
- last group: terminated the worldly life.

Exo Msg 15

1. God spoke to Moses regarding His name and His covenant to train Moses to know His person and His faithful word in His covenant.
2. Further training of Moses is consisted of 6 matters:
a) God's word of assurance - to deliver children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage, to take them to Him for a people, to make them know that He is Jehovah, their God, to make them His armies, to bring them into the promised land
b) unbelief of the children of Israel.
c) Trained in relation to Pharaoh's stubbornness.
d) Trained regarding his natural concept of uncircumcised lip. - to have this attitude indicates that we depend on what we are, not on what the Lord is and on what He can do.
e) God's ordination of Moses, indicated by a record of 3 people, not the entire genealogy. Moses was chosen, commissioned by God and represents God.
- Representation involves authority.
f) God's strong hand that backs His name, His covenant, and His word of assurance.

Exo Msg 14

1. Cause me to know your name Lord Jesus in an experiential way.
2. El Shaddai is God's name for supply and promise, so Joehovah is His name for existence and fulfillment.
3. For Him to be the fulfilling God, He must be the self-existing One. Because God is and always will be, He cannot fail to fulfill His promise.
4. Cause me to experience You as the great I am.
5. "Lord, You are. My problems will end, but You, Lord, will be forever."
6. Oath + promise = covenant.
