Exo Msg 57

1. Having a heart inclined unto the Word of God, we seek the Word, long for it, and hope in it.
2. To meditate on the Word of God is to enjoy it by musing upon it, chewing the cud.
3. When we chew, we shall spontaneously pray.
4. Musing is also enjoy His Word as His breath.
5. We muse upon the Word by talking to God, worshipping Him, enjoying Him, receiving grace from Him, and conversing with ourselves in the Lord's presence.
6. When we enter into God's Word, we see light.
7. Inwardly we have faculties created by God by which we can understand His Word, and outwardly we have the enjoyment and circumstances by which we are disciplined.
8. If we muse upon the Word, the enemy will be defeated, and we shall gather much spoil.
9. We should never separate the Lord's Word from the Lord Himself.

Exo Msg 56

1. Psalm 119 is the deep sentiment and aspiration of the psalmists.
2. Seeking God is related to keeping the law.
3. If we entreat the Lord's face, we shall receive bounty. The Lord's countenance brings His favor to the seeking one.
4. To sense the shining of the Lord's face we need a seeking heart.
5. The words are His breath, life, food, and water to us.
6. Whenever we read the Word, we need to touch the source of the Word, and this source is God Himself.
7. To lift up our hands to God's word is to welcome it, to indicate we receive it warmly and say "Amen" to it.
8. We may be joyful silently, but we must use our voice in order to rejoice.
9. Because our heart often has the tendency to depart from God's word, we need to pray that our heart would be called back to God's word adn be inclined to it.

Exo Msg 55

1. The goal of regeneration is to produce and prepare the bride for the Bridgeroom (He who has the bride is the bridegroom, John 3:3-6)
2. Only after we have been regenerated with the divine life and have thereby received the divine nature can we, sinners, be taken by Christ to be His love.
3. If there is no romance between us and the Lord Jesus, then we are religious Christians, not romantic Christians.
4. In John 14:23, the Father and Son making an abode with the one who loves the Lord Jesus is a reference to living together in married life.
5. When God gave the law to His people on the mountain, He was betrothing them to Himself. In giving them the law, He was seeking to stir them up to love Him and not to have any other beloved in addition to Him.
6. Since the law was given as an engagement contract, we should not try to keep it apart from loving the Lord and being one with Him.

Exo Msg 54

1. God's goal is to have an eternal day.
2. God's eternal purpose is to have a people to express Him. In order for this purpose to be fulfilled, God must impart Himself into His chosen people and work Himself into them.
3. In order for God to be one with us and for us to be one with Him, there must be love between us and God.
4. The genuine oneness between a man and his wife is wholly a matter of love.
5. We keep God's law by loving Him and His Word and by becoming one with Him.
6. In bringing them out of Egypt and giving His law to them, God was courting them, wooing them, and seeking to win their affection.
7. Ex 20 functions as an egagement paper, an engagement contract.
8. God's covenant with His people was an engagement.
9. In making the old covenant with the children of Israel, God betrothed Himself to the people and became their husband.
10. When we enter into such a love relationship with the Lord, we receive His life.
11. Just as Eve came out of Adam and possessed his life and nature, so the church comes out of Christ and possesses His life and nature.
12. When we say, "Lord Jesus, I love You," we are infused with His life.
13. Two substances that are to be grafted together must be similar in life.
14. First we are one with Him in love; then we become one with Him in life and nature; and finally we are one with Him in expression.
15. Law is an expression of what God is; if we become one with God in love, life, nature, and expression, we shall automatically keep His law.
16. Because the OT saints lived in God's creation, their memorial day was the 7th day. but because we, the NT saints, are in resurrection, our memorial is the 8th day.

Exo Msg 53

1. God's intention in giving the law to chosen people was theat they become those who love Him.
2. In Jeremiah 2:2, the Lord speaks of 4 things He remembers: His people, the kindness of their youth, the love of their betrothals, and how they followed after Him in the wilderness.
3. The giving of the law was a transaction in which God's people became engaged to Him.
4. If we do not love God, we shall not be albe to keep His commandments, and thus we shall not be able to express Him.

1. The law is the living word of God which infuses His substance into His loving seekers.
2. Whenever God speaks, His breath conveys His element into the ones who receive His word.
3. We cannot get rid of what is transfused into us when we hear God's words in times of communion with Him.
4. Once we have been thoroughly infused with God's substance, He Himself from within us will keep His own law.

Exo Msg 51

1. The ten commandments speak of God's image and likeness.
2. The kind of law a person makes expresses the kind of person that one is.
3. The first function of the law is not to expose but to reveal God to us.
4. 10 words (Exo 34:28) = 10 commands (Deut 4:13).
5. Jehovah thy God is used in the first 5 commandments.
6. The first 4 are related to God, the last 6 related to man.
7. Honoring of parents is ranked with the first four commands, related to God Himself.
8. When we honor our parents, we honor our source, which is God Himself.
9. God is jealous; He would not tolerate idols.
10. God is holy; keeping the Sabbath is related to God's holiness, to His being separate from all things.
11. God is loving; if we honor our parents, it shows we love them. If we love others, we shall not steal from them.
12. God is righteous because He will those who hate Him for three or four generations.
13. God is truthful. Those who tell lies are in darkness, but those who speak the truth are in light.
14. Because He is God, He cannot lie. Because light is the source of truth.
15. God is pure. The first and last commandments expose the idolatry and covetousness within us. In Col 3:5, covetousness is idolatry.
16. The fact that we are covetous indicates that we are not pure.
17. The two tablets are two tablets of testimony. This indicates that the law is God's testimony.
18. The law is a type, a figure, of Christ who speaks God, describes God, and expresses God.
19. As the law is the ten words of God which reveal God to His people, so Christ is the Word of God revealing God to us.

Exo Msg 50

1. Ch 19 to 40 is that God's saved people are brought into the presence of God and into the knowledge of God.
2. To hold a feast unto God is to enjoy with God what is offered to Him.
3. Although we could have entered into fellowship with God immediately after we were saved, in our experience, most of us travel, journey, wander, instead.
4. God is present on earth, on the mountaintop, and the people are gathered around the mountain.
5. "Yes, I am weak, but the Lord is not weak. I have Moses, the heavenly Christ, interceding for me, and I have Joshua, Christ as the life-giving Spirit, dwelling in me and fighting for me."
6. Mount Sinai - God's speaking and heavenly vision of God's dwelling place.
7. It is of vital importance that we go to the genuine mountain of God, to God's mountain on earth today.
8. At Mount Sinai the children of Israel were living in God's presence, having been sanctified, separated, unto God in an absolute way. When we gather together in the church meetings, we should also be separated from the world unto God.

Exo Msg 49

1. Ch 18 should come after chapter 40 because Deut 1 shows that it was the time the children of Israel were about to begin their journey with the tabernacle to the good land.
2. The kingdom comes after the defeat and subduing of the flesh.
3. 4 crucial words in Galatians 5:17-25: flesh (black), Spirit (green), cross (red), and kingdom (blue).
4. Exodus is composed of two sections. First section, ch 1 to 17, shows that we are fallen, have been redeemed, saved, and delivered. Second section, ch 19 to 40, shows the building up of God's dwelling place on earth.
5. Exodus is an account of how God saved His chosen people and gave them a heavenly vision so that they could build His dwelling place on earth.
6. Ch18 is the kingdom between God's salvation and building.
7. "If we enjoy God's salvation to the extent of defeating Amalek, of dealing with God's enemy within us, we shall have the kingdom of God as the issue, the result, of God's salvation."
8. Jethro represents the Gentitles who turn to God and become seekers of God in the kingdom.
9. The church will be the ruling authority in the kingdom.
10. Zipporah typifies the Gentile church gained by Christ during the time of His rejection by the children of Israel.
11. Ch18 has 4 points: the defeat of the enemy, the coming of the Gentiles to worship God, and the church represented by Zipporah, the maintaining of the godly Gentitles to seek God.
12. "If we first defeat and subdue our flesh and then go forth to contact people and preach the gospel to them, Jethro will come to us. Wen we preach the gospel by the living Spirit through the operating corss, killing the flesh, people will turn to us wherever we go." The proper gospel preaching is the kingdom.
13. If the church is truly the kingdom of God, there will be not only the elders, but also the captains.

Exo Msg 48

1. Grace is God becoming everything to us.
2. Flesh denotes anything that does not work by grace.
3. "Lord, forgive me. I cannot do anything. Because I dare not bring forth an Ishmael, I do not have the boldness to do anything."
4. Flesh is versus grace and kingship.
5. The more we are subject to God and His authority, the greater will be our desire to pray.
6. "Lord, help me to honor Your authority, Your kingship, and to always be subject to You. Lord, You have the authority. I need to obey You and be subject to You."
7. Peculiar traits, our habits damage the church life.
8. Many believers lack the weight of spiritual authority simply because they have not utterly dealt with their peculiarities.
